Do you find yourself struggling to keep up with the Jones's? Do you turn down quality, stylish items for the more expensive name brand item with lesser style? Well STOP. The reason many people are overly concerned with label and brand is because they lack personal style. These individuals cannot effectively express their personal style, therefore they want the label or brand to make a 'fashion statement' for them that they cannot effectively articulate. This is fundamentally the difference between fashion and style. On a basic level, fashion is what something is and style is how something looks. Personal style is the ability to reflect your individual thumbprint through your clothing and accessories. Ive seen a baggy Ed Hardy shirt worth $90 look worse than a well fitted $2 Hanes v-neck from Walmart.
Style and fit trump label in all areas but quality. What I mean by this is...usually 'you get what you pay for'. Many people err on the other side of the shopping spectrum in this area. Many people will buy 3 cheap items to 'save money' and end up spending more then what they would have spent on a more expensive, quality item that lasted longer. In conclusion, look for style and quality before you look for brand, unless a brand is synonymous with quality. Otherwise you will become a 'slave to name' rather than 'mobile with style'. Happy, productive, purposeful shopping.
